WELS Europe!

It is our mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Europe in order to serve people with God’s Saving Word and Sacraments.

We serve members of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a United States denomination with 350,000 members around the world. WELS members who live in Europe, whether with the US Military, or living as a civilian in somewhere in Europe, or here temporarily as a student or tourist can find spiritual support through WELS Europe. Many other Christians have enjoyed our worship services and Bible classes.

Rev. Robert Weiss serves civilians and military members who are in fellowship with the WELS throughout Europe. His official title is European Civilian Chaplain with a focus on the military. However, he also works to connect others in Europe with opportunities to make use of Word and Sacrament. He leads worship at a monthly rotation of locations in Germany and Switzerland and teaches catechism classes for children from various nations. Twice a year the various groups served by the European Chaplaincy gather for retreats, generally around the celebrations of Easter and Reformation.
