Happy New Year!!! It begins in the small Pacific island nations of Tonga and Samoa. It moves on to Sydney Harbor with a spectacular show of fireworks. Gradually it works its way westward eventually reaching New York City and the famous Times Square ball drop. Hour by hour the world continues to hold festivities that usher in the Happy New Year 2022!
Yes, we all want a happy new year, maybe even a happier one. We are all looking forward to something better. We make resolutions to improve our health, to learn new skills, to find a new job, and most of all to rid ourselves of bad habits. Our intentions are sincere, and our expectations are high. Then reality sets in. Working on those resolutions becomes a challenge, and we are tempted to give up. Roadblocks to our goals pop up around every corner. Old habits die hard. How can we have a happy new year, then?
The secret to a happy future is to look to the past. Look to the words of wisdom found in Scripture. There you will find a light on your path (Psalm 119:105). You will find the all the help you need from the almighty Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 124:8). You will find comfort in hearing that goodness and mercy will follow you all the days of your life (Psalm 23:6)! Finally, you will be reminded that through all the changes in our lives, one thing remains the same: God’s love.
God’s loving kindness has guided us in the past and will continue to guide us all the days of our life until we reach our heavenly home.

Farewell
We say farewell to Elijah Warskow who left Ramstein just before Christmas. God’s blessings to you, Elijah, as you begin your next tour at Pope Air Force Base in North Carolina.

Call to London
We thank God that Pastor Hartman has accepted the call to be a missionary in London.
London worship in January
Germany has lowered the classification of the UK from an “area of variants of concern” to just a high risk area and no longer requires quarantine to vaccinated people coming into Germany from the UK. Therefore, we will have worship as planned on January 9.
Ramstein worship
New regulations regarding worship at Ramstein have been issued as follows: “We are currently in 3G for all members 12 yrs/3 months and above… so vaccinated, recovered or negative test. All attendees age 7 and above must wear a mask throughout the service (including while at their seats). Singing is still authorized but with masks on. ”
So the biggest change for us is we must wear masks again. They have also asked for contract tracing particulars, but we are already in compliance with that since Helen Hartwig keeps a record of who attends worship.
